Hands-on Training and Certification – 5 days (40 hours)

The main goal of this intensive 5-day advanced hands-on course is to learn and master skills with advanced subjects of TRIZ and Systematic Innovation for Engineering and Technology in order to increase creative and innovative productivity and performance of organizations and individuals. The course focuses on learning how and why technology evolves in one or another way, what driving forces and basic principles of technology evolution are, and  introduces tools for obtaining more “ideal” innovative solutions.

During the course, participants learn the background of advanced TRIZ, the TRIZ Laws and Trends of Technology Evolution, Function Analysis, become familiar with the Algorithm of Solving Inventive Problems (ARIZ), learn how to use scientific effects for obtaining disruptive innovations, and study a system of 76 Inventive Standards in depth to master skills with problem solving by using the Inventive Standards.

The course also includes xTRIZ additions to TRIZ to make problem formulation and solving processes more consistent and effective. xTRIZ is a framework developed by ICG T&C on the basis of 20 years or practical experience, which extends classical TRIZ. It has been tested at numerous real cases worldwide which have proven its effectiveness.

The course contains different examples to better understand the nature of TRIZ and its thinking methodology and make it applicable to a large variety of problems, products, and technologies.

During the course, the participants work on their real-life customized projects.

This course lasts 5 days (40 hours), during which the participants deepen on the methodology of TRIZ and Systematic Innovation, and practice with their advanced techniques. For each subject of study, the course follows this sequence:

  • Listening to the lectures.
  • Discussions of the lectures watched, questions and answers.
  • Case on each subject by the trainer.
  • Exercises by the course participants.

Hands-on practice includes working in groups by 3-4 participants on a unique case throughout the course.


Engineers, designers, new product development professionals, R&D professionals, technology and business development managers, knowledge management professionals, technology consultants, engineering students. Participants will be required to have the LEVEL 1 certificate (MATRIZ – The International TRIZ Association) or TRIZ PRACTITIONER: Basic Level certificate (TTIC – TRIZ Training International Centre), or demonstrate the knowledge and skills corresponding to those certificates.


  • The course participants will become capable of solving most difficult inventive problems arising within their area of competence. Such skill brings tremendous value to a problem solver due to considerably shortened time for finding solutions and guided search towards most effective solutions.
  • The course participants will be able to use the course materials and acquired skills in their own practice.
  • Knowledge of TRIZ positively affects short and long-term benefits that can be obtained by the problems solvers and their organizations due to the acquired ability to quickly and systematically search for new solution ideas and develop new generations of products and services.


Participants who successfully completed the course, including the assignments, will receive a certificate of Level 2 (Advanced) issued by MATRIZ (The International TRIZ Association).

In addition, the certificate TRIZ PRACTITIONER: Advanced Level issued by TTIC (TRIZ Training International Center) will be provided.


The courseware includes: the course slides, the course book “Guide to TRIZ and xTRIZ Techniques (Advanced Level)”, as well as various reference materials. Additional books and video materials can be available.

  • Functional Idealization (Trimming): increase the benefit/cost ratio of products and processes. To circumvent existing patents and create patent umbrellas.
  • Practice in groups: Function Analysis.
  • Closing discussion.
  • Reflection of the second day: questions and answers.
  • Analysis of Substance-Field Modeling (Su-Field) to construct abstract models of problems.
  • Application of Substance-Field Modeling for solving inventive problems.
  • System of 76 Inventive Standards: structured collection of practical techniques for negative effects elimination and positive effects improvement within products and processes.
  • Practice in groups: Inventive Standards.
  • Closing discussion.
  • Reflection of the third day: questions and answers.
  • Ideality and Ideal Final Result.
  • ARIZ-85C (Algorithm of Solving Inventive Problems): introduction.
  • Logic of ARIZ, explanation of major concepts, structure and working principles, resolving physical contradictions, fighting mental inertia.
  • Method of Smart Little Men.
  • Detailed explanation of a problem solving process with ARIZ on the basis of a specific case study.
  • Closing discussion.
  • Reflection of the fourth day: questions and answers.
  • Practice with customized projects.
  • Overview of other advanced tools of TRIZ: Conflict-Value Mapping, Multi-Screen Analysis, Creative Imagination Development.
  • TRIZ Implementation aspects.
  • Discussions and closing.

The program and contents might slightly deviate from course to course.


Participants of the course will have a technical advisory service for 3 months from the date of completion of the course. The advice will be carried out by telematic means: telephone, e-mail and/or videoconference.


  • The course is designed to be taught in public sessions at the ADIGAI INNOVATION facilities or in other agreed with participants, as well as In-Company
  • This is a 5 days course, with a lapsed learning and practice length of 40 hours. The course might be split to match the preferences, policies and specific requirements of companies or groups.
  • When training takes place in 5 days, each training day lasts at least 8 hours including lunch and breaks.
  • Some educational problems presented during the courses are selected from areas different from the areas of the participants’ subject-matter expertise. This is done intentionally to better understand basics of Systematic Innovation.
  • During the course, participants learn by working on their own projects. It is advised that participants bring their own problems to the course. If there are confidentiality requirements, it is possible to work with problems proposed by other participants or by ADIGAI INNOVATION.
  • Often, new ideas and solutions generated directly during the TRIZ training courses are turned into intellectual property related to the participants’ professional areas. ADIGAI INNOVATION will not demand participation in potential benefits which might be obtained by a customer from implementation of solutions resulted from the training courses or follow-up support, unless agreed otherwise before events take place.
